1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using KATCODE, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with these terms, you should not use the platform.

2. Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to provide accurate information and keep your account details up to date.

3. Educational Services

KATCODE provides programming courses, guided projects, assessments, hackathons, AI-assisted learning tools, and related educational resources. Completing a course or project does not guarantee academic success, certification, or employment.

4. Subscriptions & Billing

Some features require a paid subscription. Subscription fees are billed according to the selected plan. You may upgrade, downgrade, or cancel your subscription subject to the terms of your billing provider.

5. Refund Policy

Initial subscriptions may qualify for a refund within seven (7) days of the original purchase. Refund requests submitted after this period may not be approved except where required by applicable law.

6. Repository Handover

Certain learning paths include guided software projects. Repository handover is only available after successfully completing the required milestones for that project. Once ownership is transferred, future development and maintenance become the student's responsibility.

7. Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise stated, course content, videos, notes, quizzes, branding, and platform materials remain the intellectual property of KATCODE. Student-created work remains the property of the student unless otherwise agreed.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Share your account with others.
• Copy or redistribute course materials without permission.
• Attempt to bypass platform security.
• Use automated tools to scrape or download content.
• Abuse AI features to generate harmful or unlawful content.
• Disrupt the learning experience of other users.

9. AI Features

AI-powered features are provided to support learning. Responses generated by AI may contain inaccuracies and should be reviewed critically. AI assistance should not be considered professional or academic advice.

10. Account Suspension

KATCODE reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms of Service, abuse platform features, engage in fraudulent activity, or interfere with the operation of the platform.

11. Limitation of Liability

KATCODE is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, KATCODE shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of the platform.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Continued use of the platform after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, without regard to conflict of law principles.
